Plascon House Tour: Welcome to Casa Vendicari
Built in 2015, Casa Vendicari respects the light, the aromas and the silence of the Sicilian land on which it is built. The infinite horizon and the breathtaking view of the Vendicari Nature Reserve have inspired the architectural project.
Furnishing throughout the house is contemporary but the design respects the rules and the landscape, confining it almost physically, continuing a permanent dialogue between nature and architecture. The symbiosis with the context is expressed by the choice of the local stone used throughout – that of Noto and of a local lava rock.
There is a large living room with large sliding glass doors overlooking the nature reserve and opening onto a very special pool served by terraces with many places of rest. The swimming pool is covered with lava stone and has been designed in a central position as a large Arabic bath where you can relax and chat with friends who are in the
terraces close by.
Near the pool, surrounded by aged plants, prickly pears and olive trees, there is a panoramic covered terrace with lava stone table and a well equipped outdoor kitchen and barbecue. The terrace continues with a large motorized solar blind. During the night, this area is a magical place.
Inside, the panoramic lounge is equipped with large sofas and a central lava stone fireplace.
A beautiful custom island kitchen dominates the space while large custom doors hide the appliances, pantry and sink.
The bedroom is private, more closed, with oblong doors framing the sea. Each of these windows offers direct access to the garden with breathtaking views of the surrounding trees, salt lagoons and the sea. Two of the bedrooms are double while the third is a flexible double / twin room, and all have their own bathroom with shower.
Large sheet metal sunscreens run along the façade, shaping and fragmenting the light in the hottest hours, creating origami-like patterns on the floor, like the texture of Arab architecture. They also provide safety while allowing air to circulate.
