Plascon House Tour: Merry & Bright
Today’s house tour takes us into a festive abode where a modern colour palette of white and blue makes for an impressionable yet stylish Christmas interior.
Instead of the traditional green and red festive decor, this massive Vancouver residence is filled with the energy of a simple, sophisticated and contemporary festive styling, in our favourite shade of indigo and white. Sleek, clean and modern, the living room is bright and airy, brought to life with the introduction of greenery and pops of gorgeously rich blue tones in the soft furnishings. From the throws at the dining table, to the scatters on the comfy sofa system, indigo is a perfect addition to this otherwise neutral space. We also love the use of modern lighting to add interest and contemporary style here. The lights are more like works of art – with beautiful globe glass fixtures on an ornamental metal frame that is visually stimulating and striking here. We also love the textured wall in the background against the fireplace – a stunning feature that keeps it simple in colour, yet packed with interior style, accentuating the height of the room, and focusing on the fireplace as a central feature in this room. The kitchen too is modern and crisp with beautiful white cabinetry and striking timber flooring that complements the brown shades of the modern backsplash behind a striking gas stove top. A big kitchen island is the perfect addition in this family-style kitchen space, with all the modern amenities and appliances one would come to expect from a contemporary kitchen. The bedroom is simple and uncluttered yet a striking area rug infuses colour and texture in this space, and an unadorned tree hints at the festivities of the season. Woven baskets, textured prints on the bed and a simple framed artwork complete this modern, minimalist design. The dining room awaits a festive celebration in natural elements that work to enhance the overall look, style and colour palette of this home. Contact: Plascon via
