Hotel Daunou Is A New Parisian Destination by NOOOR
Situated just a stone’s throw from the celebrated Place Vendome in Paris, the Hotel Daunou has been entirely renovated and designed by NOOOR. With a surface area of 1500m2, 50 bedrooms and a restaurant, this boutique hotel is the emblem of Parisian chic.
Séverine Rebout, Laurent Klein and Philippe Tasso, the co-founders of NOOOR, had a carte blanche for the design of this hotel, with a sole requirement: to create a place that was suitable for a clientele of businessmen and stakeholders in the fashion industry who travel to the French capital for the Fashion Weeks.
The neighbourhood, which houses major luxury brands, naturally served as a source of inspiration. The Hotel Daunou was imagined as an Haute Couture collection, echoing the world of Coco Chanel. In the bedrooms, for example, the design of the headboards is reminiscent of the Coromandel lacquer screens that Gabrielle Chanel collected in her suite at the Ritz and in her apartment on rue Cambon.
A blend of textiles
Particular attention was paid to the textiles, with tweeds and wools chosen for the day, and silks and prints for the night. Through their intricate design, NOOOR invites us into the dressing room of an elegant Parisian woman who knows how to expertly combine floral and geometric prints. As a nod to glamour, the walls of each room are adorned with posters from the 1950s to the present day by the American fashion house Blackgama, featuring famous stars. Always referencing fashion, the lampshades feature a black couture trim.
Immaculate interiors
The new Grand Luxe suite boasts a 20m 2 private terrace with views over the roofs of Paris.
In the bathrooms, a more masculine atmosphere counterbalances that of the bedrooms. Designed by NOOOR, the sink basins are made of a refined Corian block with a granite finish that brings a subtle raw look to the space.
The breakfast room has been designed as a modular space able to accommodate 40 covers, as well as a meeting room in a refined yet convivial atmosphere. Séverine, Laurent and Philippe favoured a sobriety of colours, khaki walls are embellished in places by a border stripe featuring geometric patterns and gold tones. The white leather benches and chairs in flecked fabric offer a striking contrast, highlighted by the embroidered silk sconces inspired by a design from 1970s. Finally, the lounge area has a charming smokingroom atmosphere with its electric steam fireplace equipped with a sliding door.
Thanks to this atmosphere centred around comfort and Parisian elegance, the Hotel Daunou is a new destination, allowing guests to rediscover the City of Light, reconnecting with its heritage of arts and creativity.
