Celebrity Homes: Living Large with Kourtney Kardashian
The Kardashians are a fierce crowd. From setting fashion trends and TV ratings to beauty, entrepreneurship, and more. The sisters are continuously in the limelight for their lavish lifestyles. But when it comes to each of their Californian homes, it’s easy to spot the differences in their personalities…
According to Architectural Digest, Khloé and Kourtney have much in common… a TV show, a neighbourhood, and even a decorator. But their Calabasas houses boast very distinctive styles.
Kourtney’s home is filled with vibrant artwork, rich textures, vintage furniture and custom-designed pieces. In her living room (above) you’ll find beautiful Christian Liaigre sofas dressed in a Schumacher wool and a Larsen leather joined by a Steinway piano, a vintage Oscar Niemeyer chair, and ottoman from Wyeth. Furthermore, the room boasts several custom-designed pieces, among them the ceiling lights, sconce, and consoles. The curtains are of a Loro Piana wool-linen, and the triptych is by Richard Serra.
A Kitchen Fit For A King
Superior quality Caesarstone counters complement the Ann Sacks limestone floor in Kourtney’s kitchen, which is equipped with a Sub-Zero refrigerator, a Wolf range, and Dornbracht sink fittings. To finish off the look, striking pendant lights subsequently cascade above the counters while gorgeous stools are by Alison Berger Glassworks from Holly Hunt. The photograph of Andy Warhol is by Greg Gorman.
Kourtney’s dining room is a mix of old and new. Modern abstract art adds colour while a vintage dining set brings old world charm to the room. The framed artwork is by Roy Lichtenstein, the James Prestini metal sculpture at left is from Blackman Cruz, and the carpet is by Mansour Modern.
The Master Suite
This style extends into the bedroom. James Turrell artworks are displayed above Kourtney’s bed while vintage Jean-Michel Frank lounge chairs make for some comfy bedroom seating. Furthermore, these have been upholstered in an Edelman leather and paired with the 1970s Belgian cocktail table from Lucca Antiques.
Even the bathroom in this home is a place of luxury and texture, as featured below. A freestanding tub is cleverly positioned by the window to subsequently make full use of natural lighting in this space.
