Metaphor Design: The Auria Coffee Shop
The Auria Coffee Shop by Metaphor Design is a beautifully vibrant place for residents and visitors of the Auria Senior Living community to enjoy coffee and look out onto lush gardens. As part of the San Sereno community in Johannesburg, the coffee shop brings joy and colour to the lives of all who walk through its doors.
The entire facility at Auria offers beautifully designed, centrally located, purpose-built communities that provide the ideal setting for residents to enjoy full and enriching lives with daily support and continuum of care.
In the coffee shop, incredible Eijfinger wallpapers were selected by Metaphor Design to bring nature inside. Light and bright is the theme of this section of the establishment.
Further down, images of the building exterior decks and courtyards show a glimpse of the genius works of Kunz Raubenheimer Architects. Here, slatted wood in pergolas and screens are used to create a theme that links areas together. The complete transformation of what this place once was to what it is now is really incredible.
At Auria there are many options for dining. The vibrant barista-style coffee shops are
ideal for meeting friends or family and enjoying a light meal or coffee and cake.
So, whether you choose the restaurant or the coffee shop, you are guaranteed to receive friendly service in a well-appointed space.
Whether indoors or out, the coffee shop feels fresh and inviting. As a niche design practice, Metaphor had the opportunity to work closely with the clients. As with each project undertaken, Metaphor believes that relationships matter. Their methods are based on understanding client needs and taking practical steps to meet them.
Lane Reeves founded Metaphor in 2012, and over the last 8 years the team has grown to include a handful of passionate and talented members.
