It’s hard to decide which view is more magnificent when walking into this home. The uninterrupted cityscape that seems to continue unravelling the longer you stare at it; the gentle slope of the lion’s neck, as you gaze towards Lion’s Head; or the overwhelming expanse of looming Table Mountain, visible through all the windows at the back of the house, at the base of which the property is located. Floor-to-ceiling charcoal steel-framed windows encircle the lower floor, providing natural light for the deep charcoal painted bagged brickwork and  the remarkable collection of art adorning the walls wherever you turn. The steel-and-glass doors leading into the living rooms and out to the garden, were custom-designed and fabricated by Metal Windows, using their exclusive FORMAN Brand steel systems.

The upper floor is like an ‘adult tree house’ incorporating a pyjama lounge, an enormous bedroom suite, and a  spacious open plan bathroom. The space feels open, fresh and inviting. Morning light floods in through steel clerestory windows, which provide both ventilation and frame breathtaking views of Table Mountain. A large square window exhibits the discernible curve of Lions Head (in the pyjama lounge), coupled with tall French pane steel windows in the open plan bathroom area framing views of the City bowl and the distant Waterfront.
