Design Colab Presents The Art of Custom and Bespoke Furniture in Commercial Design
In commercial design, custom and bespoke furniture is essential for reflecting a company’s identity and enhancing workspace functionality. Design Colab’s latest project with Wipro highlights how tailored furniture solutions can transform an office environment.
A standout feature in the Wipro office is the sound-dampening phone booths, designed for private meetings or focused work. These booths offer complete customization with integrated power docks, tables, seating, extractions, and motion-sensor lighting, ensuring a quiet and efficient space for employees.
Custom desking at Wipro integrates planter boxes, adding nature to the workspace. These desks match the joinery, creating a cohesive and aesthetically pleasing environment that enhances well-being and productivity.
All furniture pieces were made-to-order, incorporating Wipro’s corporate identity through customized colours and fabrics. This ensures each piece serves a functional purpose while seamlessly aligning with Wipro’s branding.
Natural materials were prioritized, including stone, timber, leather, greenery, and steel to add elegance and warmth. These materials, chosen for their sustainability and durability, ensure longevity and resilience, aligning with Wipro’s commitment to sustainability.
Design Colab also crafted various functional areas within the Wipro office, including breakaway areas, homey canteens, pause areas, and locker spaces. Each space balances relaxation and productivity, creating a welcoming environment that encourages collaboration and innovation.
To minimize disruption during installation, we adopted a phased approach, completing the second-floor call centre first, followed by the first-floor executive operational meeting spaces, and finally, the ground floor reception. This method ensured Wipro’s operations remained efficient and uninterrupted.
A focus on sustainability is evident throughout the Wipro project. By blending fun and corporate elements within a highly functional space, the team enhanced employee satisfaction and promoted a dynamic work culture. The result is a workspace that meets the practical needs of Wipro’s employees while reflecting the company’s values and identity.
In conclusion, the Wipro project exemplifies Design Colab’s expertise in creating customized, sustainable, and functional workspace solutions. Through high-quality materials and personalized design elements, they crafted an office environment that truly reflects Wipro’s identity and values. This project underscores the transformative power of custom and bespoke furniture in commercial design.
