A whiskey lover’s retreat by Antwerp Creative Studio
We love the unique wooden display installation recently completed by Antwerp Creative Studio in Southdowns, Pretoria. This ingenious ‘whiskey room’ was created using solid American white oak. The overall look is sleek and sophisticated with a few playful elements combined – the perfect space in which to enjoy a glass of the finest whiskey!
The brief – whiskey bottles complimented by a solid wooden display cabinet. Frameless glass doors add a slight touch of class while the clever use of recycled doorknobs offer some playful intrigue. Here wooden bottle tops are used as the knobs for the doors. Matt black powder coated steelwork breaks the heavy wooden tones to give a slight industrial warehouse feel to the space. The piece offers ample storage for those thousands of collector’s items that would be delightful on display. The designers also opted to include a kitchenette which is the perfect element to add in this space, creating a warm atmosphere and transforming an ordinary display room into a special place where whiskey lovers can gather and have a great time. The solid wood finish is then stained and sealed with Rudbio Monocoat to complete an entertainer’s dream whiskey retreat.
