Annie Sloan: Not A Blue Movie

Annie Sloan is perhaps the world’s most respected expert in decorative paint, colours and techniques. Her range of Chalk Paint has revolutionised the way we paint furniture today. With careful care and precision, Annie Sloan products are made to help you make the most of your home.

This month, Annie Sloan takes us behind the Chalk Paint curtain to share a video which tells us a little bit more about Tilton; the Charleston Farmhouse inspiration behind the colour, the name, and more. There’s even a cameo from Kevin – Annie’s country-singing, Connecticut-born All American prince of production! If you’ve bought a tin of Chalk Paint in the last few years there’s a good chance it’s passed through Kevin’s capable hands.

Tilton is one of three exclusive colours Annie has created as a part of the Annie Sloan with Charleston collaboration. Tilton is a deep, earthy mustard inspired by the beautifully painted circle motif on Vanessa Bell’s decorative wardrobe from 1917 in Charleston Farmhouse.

The video was filmed over a few visits to Charleston Farmhouse and then back at Annie’s factory and offices in Oxford. The team is full of incredible, hardworking individuals who are constantly working to ensure that the Chalk Paint that is sent out across the globe is the best Chalk Paint in the world!

Tilton is a super versatile and bright colour. Here’s a very simple way to use Chalk Paint®in Tilton in your home! Jelena Pticek, ex Painter In Residence and future Stockist, of Poppyseed Creative Living let yellow do the talking and styled a sweet dresser with her unique collection of retro kitsch props to add interest. As someone in the comments wrote; “If happiness were measured in colour, this is exactly what it would look like. So beautiful”. Now, I believe that happiness IS colour, and yellow is one of the happiest of them all!
