House Tour: Renovated Beauty in Salamanca Spain

In the village of Candelario near Salamanca in Spain, you will find this striking abode with several levels that have been completely renovated, while preserving the essence and simplicity of its country style. I recently had the pleasure of staying in this area earlier this month and have consequently developed a newfound appreciation for Spanish architecture and design. Join us as we tour this multi-level residence today.

We love the earthy tones of this Spanish home, from the terracotta tiles to the textured stone wall in the entryway. As if grounded in nature, this home takes on a natural, earthy and relaxed atmosphere that is often associated with village living. The large wooden front door beckons you to step inside and you won’t be disappointed. The interior is homely and welcoming. A sleek entrance table is decked out in reflective vases with fruits and flowers beautifully on display. We love the idea of using a vintage wooden trunk in this space – a visually stimulating and rustic addition to this area of the home.
A stunning copper piping bed is the feature within this traditional Spanish bedroom. A rustic wall finish and exposed wood ceiling add to the charm of this room. We also love the country-style full length mirror on show here. Our overall impression? Simple yet stylish, with a burst of blue in the linen, for added zest in this otherwise neutral space.
Exposed brickwork in the kitchen hints at a more industrial chic design that is very much on trend at the moment. A stunning traditional display cabinet stands proudly, in white, showcasing an arrangement of crockery and glassware. And then there is a dainty two-seater dining area – the table linen of which speaks of understated elegance and refinement in this Spanish retreat. Here modern meets traditional. Contemporary amenities blend together with traditional features in this quaint Candelario home.
