OKHA Composition Coffee & Side Table
The composition coffee and side tables are an arrangement of raw material elements and precise geometric forms; beyond the physical, they are a convergence of identities. The resulting dialectic composition expresses both intuitive and rational reasoning.
OKHA designs are focused on craftmanship, comfort, and a distinctive individuality that complement and contribute to the interior narrative of spaces.
The timber grid employs a regimentally systematic format, the floating islands are irreverently discordant, but fit within the system. The arrangement plays on duality, examining how two spaces can be occupied at once, the logic rational and spirit intuitive.
The design can be considered as an ever shifting, ever mutating canvas. The mix of materials brings further compositional layering, bringing stone, timber, and metal together; hand-worked and crafted using artisanal skills and explorative processes.
The design invites the user to participate and interact with the table, arranging and re-arranging still lives, manifesting further personalized compositions on the solid “islands”.
The arrangement of the table uses both rigorous, systematic geometry, as well as a playful, irreverent use of asymmetry. This juxtaposition of material and form makes the Composition tables both intriguing and subtly provocative.
