My Hares and Graces
Handmade in South Africa, My Hares and Graces offers a beautiful selection of life-sized animal sculptures, each lovingly sculpted by artist Carol Slabolepszy.
“I really enjoy the challenge of working creatively in different media and have loved carrying out commissions in painting, sculpting, quilting and mosaicking,” says Carol.
“I have always had a special love for clay and sculpting and, towards the end of 2011, began making life-size hares out of clay. So began My Hares and Graces, a project that has grown into a life-changing enterprise. The animals are ‘pieces of me’ and are making themselves at home in South Africa and the rest of the world.”
Over the years, Carol’s much-loved hares were followed by other animals, including meerkats, pangolins, dogs and cats.
Today, these sculptures form the perfect basis for celebratory events such as Easter and Halloween, with glow-in-the-dark hare sculptures now available to order. In addition, Carol and her team are also able to capture the spirit and character of much-loved family pets in custom sculptures, allowing them to live on with their families for many years after they are gone.
In addition, My Hares and Graces also offers exclusive bronze sculptures on an individual basis.
Browse the My Hares and Graces collection online or view the sculptures at select stockists across South Africa, including Garden Bleu in Parkhurst, Art in the Yard in Franschhoek and Kobisia Interiors in Dullstroom.
