Let’s Meet The Master – Craig Steel From SHF

We recently had the great pleasure of talking to Craig Steel, founder and pioneer behind the thriving SHF brand in South Africa. Here he shares some of the places, colours and interesting projects that continue to motivate and lead SHF into the future.
What’s your go-to classic colour choice?
“Neutrals – greys, whites and black with a pop of colour.”
Is there a hotel, interior or building that most inspires you?
“The Silos in Cape Town and The Raas Hotel in Jodphur, India.”
A place you love to visit?
“India Jaipur, the architecture, colours and vibe of the place is magical!”
Where do you go to spot new styles?
“I’m influenced by everything around me from fashion to food to travel and how I see things in a different way to most people.”
Do you have a favourite restaurant?
“The Pot Luck Club in Cape Town, tapas in style!”
Who or what is your biggest design influence?
“I’m influenced by textures, tones and forms – finding a balance with loving something and creating a unique space and identity.”
Any interesting projects you are working on?
“SHF is always evolving & growing. We are opening our Cape Town gallery in the next couple of months as well as working on some exciting new things in the KZN Midlands.”
