LaForma SA: Inspiration, Trends & More
We chat to the owner of renowned brand LaForma SA about the inspiration, trends, influences and future of this exciting company.
What’s your go-to classic colour choice?
Whilst blues are very in this season, I’ve always loved the darker hues mixed with different textures to create harmony in the home.
Is there a hotel that’s most inspired your work?
Earlier this year I stayed at a magnificent hotel in Barcelona called Hotel Miramar. It was the first time that I found a place that truly reflects my work inspiration. I’ve always seemed to ‘feel’ my way through design and decor but the luxury yet simplicity of the place mirrored my own.
A place you love to visit?
I’ve been fortunate to travel a lot in recent years but my favorite place remains Spain and specifically Barcelona, which is where the headquarters of LaForma are situated.
Where do you go to spot new styles?
I adore Pinterest and Instagram of course but I find inspiration in many places with everything from art to fashion, architecture and even cooking believe it or not. Travel also has offered me the opportunity to open my mind to the possibility of mixing colours, design, fabrics and texture.
Do you have a favourite restaurant?
My favourite place is a little place called Assaggi deli in Illovo. Luca makes the best pasta and you can’t beat it topped off with one of their incredible offerings of wine.
Who or what is your biggest design influence?
I mentioned travel but I also have some favorite fashion brands and designers such as Desigual from Spain and of course Chanel, who was able to add elegance to anything.
Any interesting projects you are working on?
We’ve just finished an incredible collaboration with the gorgeous couple Thiart and Tanja Nortje. We’ve also done some work for the Radisson and are involved in a number of new projects for the new year. Keep in touch via the LaFormaSA social pages and on www.laformasa.co.za.
