Corobrik: Festive Fireplaces Using Face Brick
December is upon us and we’re celebrating the festive season with gorgeous and cosy fireplaces using Corobrik’s versatile range of clay face brick. Even though most South Africans enjoy a sweltering hot summer during the holiday season, so many traditional homes still use old brick fireplaces as a charming feature.

Deck the halls with boughs of holly and toast to loved ones huddled around this trendy black brick hearth. This fireplace provides a stunning feature for any home – with or without a kindled flame lit. To recreate this look we recommend using “The Black Brick” from Corobrik’s clay face brick range in a satin finish.
If your home has a fireplace that is never in use, why not place fairy lights or candles of different sizes inside the hearth to create a warm, friendly and romantic feel? Decorate the mantelpiece with tinsel and other festive trimmings for extra holiday cheer.
To recreate this traditional fireplace we suggest using clay face brick from Corobrik’s “Rustic” range, which will give the structure a slightly uneven, earthy texture. A neutral colour brick such as Corobrik’s “Red Leaf” works wonderfully with this raw finish.
This quaint and contemporary electric fireplace creates a cosy “fireside” mood without the heat of an authentic fire. The light brown coloured brick complements the neutral interior of this modern lounge. To recreate this fireplace we recommend using “Sandstone” from Corobrik’s clay face brick range.
This rich, red brick fire place sets a picturesque Christmas scene in the family home. It’s hard not to imagine Santa himself coming down the chimney to deliver goodies to good little girls and boys in this happy household. To recreate this fireplace we suggest using “Tokai Red” from Corobrik’s clay face brick range.
From all of us at Corobrik, we wish you and your loved ones a fabulous festive season and a prosperous and happy new year.
