Origin Art
Based in buzzing Jo’burg, Origin Art is redefining the experience of buying and selling art.
Launched in 2021, the online art gallery aims to make buying and selling art more convenient for collectors and artists alike.
“At Origin Art, we make it our mission to help collectors discover and purchase art from the best emerging artists South Africa has to offer,” says Oliver Antonie, the company’s chief curator and founder. “Whether you are looking to discover a new artist, add a statement piece to your home, or commemorate an important life event, Origin Art is your portal to original works by today’s top artists.”
As such, the online gallery offers a wide range of styles across various mediums, including painting, photography and sculpture.
To help customers select the perfect artwork for their space, Origin Art also pairs each client with a trained art curator free of charge – a first in the industry.
“Whatever art you are looking to purchase, your Origin Art curator will select works tailored to your needs, space, and style,” the gallery explains. “Depending on your request, your curator will suggest a carefully chosen selection of around 30 works for you to browse through online. No other art advisory program offers this time-saving service to both individuals and trade professionals free of charge.”
As one happy client noted, it’s “the art world equivalent of having Donald Nxumalo come furniture shopping with you”.
In addition, Origin Art also offers buyers a seven-day exchange policy and a guarantee of the highest-quality art, so you can shop with complete confidence.
