Open Studios Fish Hoek & Clovelly: Artists Open Their Doors for the First Time This October

For the first time ever, a collective of artists in the coastal suburbs of Fish Hoek and Clovelly will open their private studios to the public as part of the inaugural Open Studios Fish Hoek & Clovelly (OSFHC) event, running from 3 to 5 October 2025.

This landmark weekend will offer a rare opportunity to connect with 18 local artists across 13 studio sites, mapped out along four unique routes: Clovelly, Fish Hoek Valley, Fish Hoek Mountainside, and Risi View. From ceramics to painting, sculpture, papermaking, stitching, photography, and more, visitors will be treated to a wide array of disciplines and styles—many of which are deeply rooted in the South Peninsula’s growing creative community.

Inspired by similar events in Noordhoek and Kommetjie, the organisers say the time has come for Fish Hoek and Clovelly to shine. “This part of the peninsula has often been overlooked as a cultural hub,” they say. “But in reality, it’s bursting with talent. Through this event, we hope to honour both the legacy and the future potential of our area by welcoming people into the homes and studios where this creative magic happens.”
