Room 13 Design: Madiba ‘The Dreamer’ Collection
In celebration of the Nelson Mandela Centenary, Room 13 Design in collaboration with CollaboNative brings you Madiba ‘The Dreamer Collection.’ This is a homeware & accessories range endorsed by the Nelson Mandela Foundation.
This range is inspired by Madiba’s thoughts, dreams and imagination. How he hoped for freedom and brought to reality his dream of the rainbow nation.
The photographic illustration and colour of the range are inspired by that very iconic glance out of the prison windows of Robben Island, in his mind’s eye, a view of a free South Africa, that is now vibrant and bold in its freedom of expression.
Inspiration for the prints and designs are derived from patterns and textures of his beloved shirts, nature and the traditional fabrics that define the people of South Africa.
Those who share in and converge around the spaces that this home range will live in can only be inspired by the essence of the visionary that dreamed of a world so vibrant, bold, courageous and free. May it be a conversation catalyst of the dialogue that continues the legacy of this great man.
The team have crafted contemporary designs; yet that stand true to our heritage. Products and designs are authentically South African, created and produced by supporting local industry and engaging in employment and education initiatives with our supply partners.
