Plascon House Tour: Limited Living
When space is limited, it becomes harder to define your living areas and create a stylish yet comfortable home. But it can be done. We find proof in today’s tiny 60m2 Sao Paolo apartment, where minimalist living in a tight space is done with refined simplicity.
By keeping the colour palette simple and neutral, designers were able to create a harmonious flow between the living space and kitchen. Beautiful woody accents and grey highlights are used throughout – adding a touch of contemporary flair to this modern apartment. Internal walls of wood and frosted glass help to separate the spaces – and also allows for light to flow between the rooms. As such, instead of a dark space, the apartment feels modern and well-lit.
The overall feel is one of industrial living – with exposed wiring and concrete ceiling that gives this tiny home a modern edge. A patterned rug and abstract artwork bring vibrancy, pattern and energy into this space. A two-seater grey sofa is the ideal fit here.
The narrow kitchen area opens up into the living space. A counter and industrial shelving that suspends from copper piping help to separate the kitchen from the rest of the home. Modern matte grey cabinets add to the neutral colour palette and a pop of greenery and orange accent decor bring a freshness to this tiny kitchen.
Open shelving works well here – enhancing the industrial chic vibe of this modern home. White light pendants, stone counters and sleek white tiles complete the space. We also love the modern mix of white and grey paint on the cupboard doors – adding depth of space here.
The industrial chic theme extends to the bedroom where again, we see the clever use of copper piping and raw wood being used in a unique above-the-bed storage. A perfect spot to house a collection of books, plants and decor. Texture, colour and pattern come together in this modern bedroom and we love how it all works together, in keeping with the neutral shades of the entire home.
