A great way to showcase & organise your mugs
Mugs are one of those things people seem to always have too many of. You probably often get mugs as gifts, and if you’re anything like me, you can’t resist when you see a beautiful mug at a store—and it all adds up to a huge collection. But, mugs also tend to display a lot of who you are and what you find beautiful and interesting, so why not show them off in your home?
Hang Mugs From a Rail
This is a pretty simple solution and works well if you have a select number of mugs you really want to show off rather than hiding them away in a cabinet—just install a utensil bar and hang your favorite mugs from the hooks. DIY Peg Board
If you’re feeling particularly crafty, you can make a custom peg board to store all your mugs. Use painter’s tape and spray paint to spruce up your peg board in any design you like, then once it’s dry, put your mugs in place with hooks. Bonus: With peg board, you can arrange your mugs in tons of different ways—maybe even tell a story, about your experiences or travels—until you find a look that works for you. Install Hooks Under Cabinets
Like hanging mugs from a rail, this is a simple way to show off a select few of your favorite decorative mugs. All you have to do to achieve this look is install hooks on the underside of your cabinets, and hang up your mugs and teacups. DIY Coffee Bar
To make your own DIY coffee bar, you’ll need copper pipe, S-hooks, paint or stain and wood boards. The result? Super stylish storage. Vertical Space
You may not have a lot of room for bars and and shelves, but if you can spare a little bit of vertical space, you can sneak in some mug storage. Floating Shelves
Another way to use vertical space is to install some small floating shelves. With floating shelves, you can place them wherever makes sense in your kitchen, and you can show off a few different mugs on each shelf. Ideas originally published on Apartment Therapy
