Plascon House Tour: Casual Family Apartment

There is a lived-in, casual air about today’s modern family apartment. The interior is fit for the whole family – with functional areas that are comfortable and bright in neutral tones. Old furniture is styled beautifully, and with a modern light, bright colour palette is given a fresh lease on life here.

The living area, although quaint, is zoned into key areas for dining and lounging together with the family. A white interior makes for a bright space, welcoming in natural lighting from the many windows and patio door. An array of tables offer versatility in this space, from a wooden coffee table to side nesting tables and rustic dining table that all fit perfectly into this area. We also love the arrangement of collectables and accent decor in this space –  with a beautiful mix of glassware, copper pots, lanterns and greenery for an eclectic homely feel. The dining room area is well lit, adjacent to a big window that overlooks the outside patio. Here a playful collection of candles, glassware and a simple arrangement of flowers and wooden decor on the table add to the ambience created here. The standout feature is definitely the vintage wooden table with chairs beneath a paper lantern used as chandelier in this eclectic space. We also love the old-world golden frame on the wall overhead – a beautiful vintage touch! A simple arrangement of framed artwork on the walls adds to the casual elegance of the living room. An L-shaped sofa makes for a comfy addition to this family room and again, bare windows welcome the natural light into this space. A few green sprigs in pots and vases add a freshness to this family space. We love the trending dark cabinetry of the kitchen and the vintage choice of hardware on the drawers in a metallic finish. Modern black appliances, together with industrial style light pendant and open shelving give this space a contemporary flair. Wooden floors throughout this home give it a unified, harmonious feel. The bedroom is light and welcoming, and again, a casual tone is set with an array of pillows and linen styled as if just lightly strewn on the edge of the bed to give it that ‘just-woke-up’ appearance. We love the choice of light pastel tones in this room that contribute to the freshness of this space, against darker wooden cabinets and the rich oak flooring. Contact: Plascon Via
