Plascon House Tour: Scandi Spaces To Inspire

We’re seeing a lot of beautiful Nordic-inspired homes making a mark in the world of interiors in 2018. What sets today’s house tour apart is it’s carefully curated selection of finishes with black and deep blue as intriguing accent colours. The colour palette remains neutral and the ambience is still light and airy as we have come to expect from Scandi-styled spaces, but a touch of black and navy in various finishes adds depth and excitement to this striking abode.

In the living room, the sheer volume of the space is emphasised by the beautiful selection of windows that span the height of the walls. This ensures that ample space and light are present in the lounge. We see the black accent colour shining through here via the aluminium window frames, a curated artwork on the walls as well as a modern metallic light fitting. The choice of navy ottoman and scatter also pops against the lighter finishes in the room.

A contemporary fireplace is also cleverly positioned in the centre of the room, offering maximum reach into the living room and open plan dining area. Black again ties everything together here with a mix of dining chairs in timber tones with black accents. Roller blinds in a sheer fabric ensure privacy but that light is still present in this space.

The kitchen area is light, bright and modern in white. The wood-look floors add some contrast against the stark white backdrop and also tie together well with the choice of bar stools in timber and white. Open plan shelving, streamlined white cabinetry and a reflective kitchen island add to the minimalist look of this space.

The bedroom lures us inside with a striking wallpaper in dramatic florals and dark, romantic shades – a real feature in this space. The colour palette is kept simple and the wallpaper pops against the use of natural materials and light wood flooring used here.
