Screen printing is a great form of art whereby you mostly make use of one colour at a time to paint a surface. What you will need:

Pillow case(s)
Syringe / small paint brush
Black paint
Plastic bag to put inside the pillow case
Cardboard or drop sheet to put underneath the pillowcase for painting
Wire / Washing line
Extra set of hands
Marker / Pencil
Ruler

Step-by-step instructions

Prepare your surface – Cover up the table you are painting on using drop sheets or card board. Place the pillow case on the surface and add a plastic bag flat inside the pillow case to protect the paint from staining the back of the case.
Planning – Measure the size of the lines out on the cardboard or surface you will be painting on using a ruler and pencil / marker.

3. Painting – Draw up some of the paint in a syringe and let it run down the side of the wire. Alternatively, a small paint brush can be used. Place the wire ends on the marks that you measured out and slowly place it down on the pillow case. You might need an extra set of hands to assist in dabbing the wire lightly to make sure that the whole surface has paint on.

4. Repeat – Repeat step three until you achieve the desired result and have completed your design. 5. Wait until the paint has dried completely and iron the pillow cases. It is best to wash these items by hand in future.
