Win! Linen Drawer is Trending With Living Coral
Congratulations Lois Carol Wessels is our Winner. Competition is closed.
Linen Drawer embraces Living Coral as a colour to inspire the latest trends in 2019. One lucky follower could also win a R2500 voucher to purchase any bed, bath or table linen from the Linen Drawer online store.
Declared the Pantone Colour of the year, Living Coral has sparked some controversy because there is so little coral left that is still alive! However, as optimists at Linen Drawer, they believe that the colour, and any discussion of the shade can only draw attention to the plight of our coral reefs.
Should you be unfamiliar with the colour, it is a rich orangey toned pink with underlying gold tones. It is a warm, happy colour which encourages us to think of glorious sunsets, flamingos and the surprising insides of seashells.
To find out how best to incorporate this “Colour of the year” into your décor palette, simply read below:
At Linen Drawer they have embraced the colour as it sits so well alongside their colour range of 400 thread count Egyptian cotton bed linen, in sand, blue vapour and slate. It looks fresh and young next to white, and duck egg, while it brings an unexpected twist when paired with cream or taupe bed linen.
Few interior design gurus would recommend an entire bed ‘dressed’ in Living Coral, but if used as an accent in a throw, embroidery, or satin-stitching, it certainly is on trend. Of course, if you deepen the hue, you achieve a subtle, mature colour – looking at shades of terracotta, sienna and brick.
Whichever way you choose to use Living Coral, it remains a wonderfully uplifting and optimistic colour. Alongside muted neutrals like sage, taupe and pale grey it provides a lively pop! Linen Drawer will use it as an embroidery and satin stitching colour, to enliven their classic palette of coloured bed linen.
