Tempur: When To Replace Your Bed Pillows
Ensure good health, better sleep and added comfort in the bedroom. How? Be sure to change out your pillows regularly and get the support your body needs. Let’s put your pillows to the test and know when it’s time to wave them goodbye.
The right pillow is important for better quality rest and the support your neck needs during the night. You spend up to 8 hours per night resting on a pillow. Your old pillows will certainly lose structural integrity and begin to wear over time. But how often should you replace your pillows?
What do the professionals say?
Experts suggest that polyester pillows typically need replacing every 6 months, but higher quality pillows can last longer. Good quality pillows will last and you can expect to replace these pillows every 1 to 2 years.
Take care of your bed and body
Choosing the right pillow can improve how well our body is positioned at night. This can certainly affect our sleep. Tempur’s wide range of pillows accommodates a variety of preferences and sleep positions.
Additionally, pillows should be kept well-maintained and cleaned regularly. Remember, you’re placing your head on a pillow daily, and it may be exposed to makeup, hair products, drool, sweat and more. Be sure to air your pillow often and wash them to keep them in prime condition.
Time for new pillows?
A tell-tale sign that it is time to replace your pillow, is if you wake up with discomfort in the morning. A sore or stiff neck is a clear indicator that your pillow is probably past it’s sell-by-date! You can also test your pillows to see if it is still in a good condition. If you have a non-foam pillow, try folding it in half. Your pillows should spring back with ease, or it may be time to toss them out!
If your pillow is not supporting your neck, or you’re waking up with stiffness or discomfort, then it may be time to wave it goodbye.
