How to Convert Your Closet into a Bright, New Functional Space
In modern homes, space is often very limited and we need to think out of the box when it comes to how we use different areas to maximise its full potential. Here we take a look at some innovative ways to revamp even the smallest of closets into fun, bright and functional areas in your home.
A cosy office space If space is a real issue in your home, take a look at this. You can easily convert an unused closet area into a nifty office space which can then be closed off when not in use. We love the idea of using a colourful wallpaper to brighten up this space. Add a floating shelf, a stylish chair and create the perfect hidden office sanctuary. Space for Two? We also love the clever use of space in this makeshift office by Killy Scheer of Frisson Design (below). She hung a curtain from the main room’s ceiling. When the curtain was open, the office felt spacious enough for both work-at-home spouses. When it was closed, Scheer and her husband could forget work and enjoy their living room. A bright playroom Create a clever little play nook for your kids in a closet. Add some soft toys, comfy cushions, books and more, and let their imaginations take flight! Nursery room conversion Babies come with endless amounts of goodies. If you run out of space, add a baby changing station in your nursery closet and customise the space to suit your needs.
