Vay-kaying in St. Tropez this summer?
Then a meal at the glamorous new Louis Vuitton restaurant at White 1921 Saint-Tropez Hotel should be on the menu.
The destination eatery has not only undergone a revamp but Michelin-starred chef Arnaud Donckele and pastry chef Maxime Fréderic will also be taking charge of the kitchen this summer, delighting guests with fresh, innovative and stylish plates packed with flavour.
The brand’s first stand-alone restaurant, the establishment was opened in 2022 and its cool, natural decor was an immediate drawcard.
Think wood and rattan elegantly combined with pieces from Louis Vuitton’s Objets Nomades collection (such as Zanellato/Bortotto’s hanging leather lanterns) and the brand’s iconic fleur de lis, which even features in perfectly manicured hedges.
Fast-forward to 2023 and the decor now also features a new blue-and-white tile pattern, inspired by the fashion house’s new By the Pool resort collection, on everything from upholstery to tableware.
In terms of food, diners can expect innovative Mediterranean cuisine, including soft brioche flavoured with orange blossoms and topped with a Louis Vuitton monogram, sushi made with Camargue rice, sea bream ceviche, truffle-stuffed Italian zitone pasta and Moroccan-spiced lamb chops.
“For this Louis Vuitton space in Saint-Tropez, Maxime and I imagined a restaurant offering a neo-gastronomic experience that is extremely vibrant, playful, and uncomplicated,” says chef Arnaud Donckele.
“We selected high-quality produce, as Louis Vuitton does when it chooses a beautiful fabric or leather, with craftsmen who know how to work it.”
From the carefully curated decor to the dishes, the restaurant is certainly a must-visit for fashionistas and foodies this summer.
