Step Inside This Modern Sanctuary by Argyle Design
This stunning contemporary home by Argyle Design is located in Brooklyn’s Red Hook neighbourhood. The home is a modern sanctuary full of bold statements and cosy moments.
The vision was to make this 6,000-square-foot industrial residence with 20-foot ceilings into a comfy and artful oasis. Featuring several Argyle original designs in furniture and art, this one-of-a-kind dwelling is a modern sanctuary in the heart of the city.
Creating inspiring spaces
Argyle Design’s young husband-and-wife principals, James Drew and Kat Bell, have created homes for A-list entertainment industry clients, including pop star Demi Lovato and filmmaker Jason Reitman.
The broad living area had to have an industrial framework. Still, the playful feeling the room creates is because of the intriguing and extinguished furniture with its diverse shapes, textures, and matching colours and tones. “We only had three weeks to conceive and implement the entire project,” Bell explains. “And the client’s prompts were ‘comfy’ and moody,’ despite the fact that the ceilings are twenty-four feet high!”
A city-escape
It’s a unique and artistic residence that feels like a modern city-escape. Floor to ceiling drapes in the living spaces add drama, while artistic furniture adds movement and curves to the modern living room. The living area features a one-of-a-kind green wave sofa, round armchairs, and wood and stone centrepieces. The blue shelves are adorned with decorative things. This adds texture and colour to the room.
Step outside
Furthermore, the home also features an outdoor space with some chairs, a round table, and a parasol surrounded by nature. We love the idea of indoor – outdoor living here and how one can feel connected to nature, whether on in the outdoor space or just inside, thanks to the expansive windows.
With so many modern, statement furniture items, the home truly comes alive with a contemporary feel. The ambience is cosy yet cool; modern yet lived-in.
