Step Inside This Glamourous West Village Townhouse
Step inside this historic West Village Townhouse, revitalized by Architect Steven Harris and designer Julie Hillman. It boasts an irreverent interior design that matches the bohemian culture of the neighbourhood.
West Village is known for its colourful houses, artistic residents, and alternative culture – it’s an essential spot in American bohemian culture. Just stopping by this neighbourhood can be insightful. The area is renowned for its landmarked brownstone architecture, angled street layout, arts scene and bohemian roots. Today’s home grabs our attention with its glamourous transformation.
Owners signed on architect Steven Harris for the floor plan transformation. Harris and his team knew the home well; they already worked with the former owners, which made the renovation process a little bit easier as they understood the house specifications and could realise an adaptation for the new owners.
The renovation included an extension of the main bedroom and kitchen. Furthermore, a basement space was added during the renovation, to make room for a music room and gym. In the living room, the architect levelled the patio with the front door, giving visitors the sensation of entering a garden.
The home also had to accommodate the new owners’ collection of art. As such, creative pieces are sprawled throughout, together with modern furniture and accessories that make this space look remarkable.
The entryway is a focal point in itself. The new owners wanted a dramatic entrance and in answer to this request, designers opted to create a stunning hall with graphic marble on the floors and art pieces throughout. This entryway translates into a single room, the taste of the clients, and the vibe of the whole home.
This West Village Townhouse’s signature is a blend of art, high furniture, and marble. These three elements are the base for this impeccable interior design layout.
