Portuguese Design: Boca do Lobo Presents Cristina Jorge de Carvalho
Portuguese design is taking the world by storm. The industry is booming with top Portuguese designers making a name for themselves globally. There is, therefore, no doubt that everyone should be acquainted with the work of designer Cristina Jorge de Carvalho – a design force to be reckoned with.
With a comprehensive portfolio and a creative vision that combines functionality and sophistication, Cristina Jorge de Cavalho takes the lead of her homonymous atelier creating tailor-made projects in the areas of Architecture and Interior Design.
In an interview with The Design Society, Cristina explains, “In 2000, back in Lisbon, I founded my atelier, Cristina Jorge de Carvalho Interior Design, where I have been developing commissioned architecture, interior architecture and interior design projects for residential and commercial spaces with my team. In 2014, I launched my furniture collection, which was a natural step in my career, since I’ve been designing bespoke pieces for my interior design projects since the beginning.”
Each project is designed as unique, having the client’s personality and lifestyle, as well as the space needs, as the main inspirations. The coding thread that defines all projects with CJC signature is based on the balance between clean lines and the intelligent set of volumes, materials and textures. An eclectic and contemporary approach, where the sobriety of design and comfort find harmony.
With a team of highly specialised professionals, Cristina’s atelier is known for its sober and exclusive aesthetic, achieved through timeless interiors that express the elegant style and pure luxury that define its identity and brand image in a simple way.
Known for their stunning interiors, all projects are specially made in order to achieve the exclusive clients’ desires and lifestyle, for whom all interiors and pieces of furniture are custom-made.
Her work is often published in international publications including AD, Elle Decor, Nuevo Estilo, Marie Claire Maison, Belles Demeures, Metropolitan, Vogue, among others.
