Plascon House Tour: Viva el español
There is something captivating about Spanish interior design – it draws strength from a vivid use of colours, natural materials and distinct architecture. Today’s modern Spanish home is simply beautiful and refreshing and yet, continues to capture the true essence of Spanish design that we love.
Warmth radiates through the living space of this beautiful Spanish home. A fireplace takes pride of place here, bringing rustic warmth and elegance to this family space. A mix of wooden elements adds life here – with a distressed wooden mirror above the mantel, white wooden panelling on the walls, and rich oak furniture. These woody tones are picked up in the creamy wall colourings that echo throughout this home.
A large open plan kitchen is ideal for big family gatherings as is custom in Spanish homes. This space feels contemporary with a few industrial touches including a central industrial style light fitting above a large kitchen island. Light wooden floors with glass doors add energy and brightness to this space.
The dining room is fully kitted out in modern furnishings that are also homely and inviting. Darker shades of green with ceramic ware and white wooden seating add to the overall designer look of this space. Beautiful wooden light installations suspend beautifully above the table and add to the rustic nature of this space.
In the bedrooms, warm autumnal colours are used to add warmth. A mix of plain fabrics with stripes and rich tones complete this space. Roller-blinds are ideal in a child’s bedroom, which can open up to completely let in the natural light, or completely shut down for a dark, intimate space at night.
The main bedroom has more of a luxurious feel to it, with high ceilings and a vintage chandelier above the main bed. Windows open up to the lush gardens outside and we love that the space feels clean, modern and bright. A mix of textures and colours add visual appeal here.
