Today’s home evokes a real sense of character with bright open spaces and light, white interiors that are crisp, clean and contemporary.
Without detracting from the character of this older-style Perth house, the owners completely gutted the living spaces and changed the layout. They added a new kitchen, laundry, scullery, bathrooms, floors, landscaping and cladding. We’re so glad they did because the overall look is pristine and modern; open plan with ample space for the family to enjoy.
A bold pink front door makes a real statement. This soft shade echoes throughout the living space, with pink providing a beautifully romantic and modern accent colour to the open plan living room.
The kitchen is minimalist and beautifully simple. The white interior provides a clean palette and we love the use of grouped metal pendants above the kitchen counter. The darker shades and jagged contours add a wonderful contrast against the all-white space. Greenery adds a refreshing ambience here and who says you shouldn’t use art in the kitchen! A gallery wall of muted art is ideal here – adding to the simplicity and elegance of this room. The dining room too is bright and contemporary. Modern glass globe pendants add to the look and we love the incorporation of contemporary white wooden shutters in this space. A striking area rug adds definition and pattern here.
Things are kept simple in the bedroom with white walls and soft shades used in the accent decor with a mix of muted scatters on the bed. The bed looks inviting and cosy, covered in throws and we love the moody ambience added by the framed photograph above the bed. Overall, a restful and elegant room.
