Plascon House Tour: Oxford Industrial Glamour
An old barn was beautifully converted into this stylish industrial home near Oxford. The owners poured out their time and passion to create a light filled urban retreat to be enjoyed by their growing family.
Large fold-away doors ensure maximum use of light and space in the dining room. The barn’s high ceilings lend this space an urban and open ambience and the interior oozes luxe living with glamourous touches including a bronze cattle head, elegant Italian lighting and many small chic additions to each room.
Soft drapes extend from the ceiling down to the floor, and add to the elegant ambience of this sophisticated industrial space. It’s a double height room, so everything is big, bold and beautiful. A modern table takes centre stage here with a mix of earthy tones and industrial finishes throughout.
Wooden flooring adds to the seamless look of the open plan living spaces and we love the use of dark stained wood which brings a richness and warmth to the home.
The kitchen is a mix of urban cool finishes with a dark feature wall that ties it all together. A stainless steel island and backsplash are refreshing while a mix of wood, glass and metal adds to the interest in this spacious kitchen.
Low-slung sofas and a fur-covered chaise invite lounging in the living room. The vaulted expanse of the dining area is balanced by a cosy snug located near to the stairs. And everywhere, gentle tones of charcoal, buttermilk, caramel and smoke add warmth.
The master bedroom is calming in similar natural shades. Beautiful lighting adds to the elegance of this space and ties into the tranquil setting created.
