Plascon House Tour: Inside A Bright Kensington Apartment
Today’s bold Kensington apartment in London offers a mix of natural materials and a playful choice of colours in unexpected places. We love the bright, modern feel of this home.
When planning this two-level apartment, the key was to create flow between the different rooms without each space feeling closed off from the next. Rooms needed to blend together and offer functional appeal to the owners.
Owners opted for a mid-century feel with the furnishings, from the muted yellow kitchen to the playful choice of accessories. Tons of wood bring an earthy quality to this blissful home. It lends itself to an airy, cosy vibe which we love.
The clever incorporation of vintage furniture and a classic marble splashback brings the kitchen to life. Beautiful herringbone wood floors set the tone for a calming space in which to cook and enjoy life. The kitchen is arguably our favourite space in this home – complete with ample lighting, and a central table for family gatherings.
The living room features a gallery wall of artwork showcasing women. A piano takes centre stage here, as does a bold blue set of sofas.
The bedrooms are light and relaxing. Floor to ceiling sliding glass doors bring an abundance of natural light into the master suite. The natural wood everywhere creates a sense of warmth and comfort. A bold four-poster bed ties into the all-wood look here and we love the cosy, cabin feel of this space.
