Plascon House Tour: Contemporary Cape Cod Living In The City
A beautiful Los Angeles home has been converted into a contemporary residence with Cape Cod flair. The result is a stylish retreat in the city with dark moody walls, 70s inspired shapes and brass accents.
We love the dark tones offset by white panelling in the dining room. Here dark olive green brings the space to life with modern cane dining chairs upholstered in velvet. Two brass chandeliers with globes create depth above the table while a geometric server in black adds interest here.
In keeping with the many shades of green, a sage living room wall adds a softer ambience. Curved sofas and a fluff sheepskin bench give softness, while the angular wooden coffee tables add modern lines and intrigue. The coffee table is the Vintage 2-Piece Italian Modernist Travertine Tables – a definite feature in this space.
Texture abounds in this home, from the furnishings with fur, upholstery, mirror and more to the actual furniture in wood, brass and even cane finishing.
In the second lounge area, green walls give way to a beautifully textured grasscloth style wallpaper. It adds another dimension and aesthetic to this area.
The same wallpaper extends into the master bedroom, adding a dramatic ambience in dark textured shades. A contemporary four-poster bed in natural and black wood becomes a statement in this large bedroom. We love the dark bedding which adds to the moody ambience of this room. Symmetrical Moroccan-inspired gilded mirrors add a touch of glam here.
The end result is a beautiful inspired home, filled with dark tones and a variety of textures.
