Plascon House Tour: Charming Family Farm
Country and farm-style living are simply idyllic. Think big open spaces inspired by nature, rustic furniture and beautiful finishes that tell a story. Today’s magnificent farmhouse has belonged to the same family since the 16th Century. A recent remodel sees a celebration of farm life without removing the charm of the original structure.
From floors to the ceiling, the interior is beautifully decked out in vintage finds and charming furnishings that echo the style of the farmhouse and its long heritage. A magnificent hand-painted linen-oiled floor takes centre stage here. The floors create continuous flow in the home and provide a beautiful darker contrast to the otherwise neutral and stylish finishes.
Each piece has been carefully considered – all telling a story and bringing a sense of charm and character to the interior spaces. Inspired by nature, the interior colours are neutral and natural. The soft, neutral tones make for a relaxing space.
A mix of wooden pieces adds character to the dining room. Some rattan items, a mix of chairs, together with a beautiful distressed table completes the look of this space.
The bedrooms too are beautifully neutral with striking features such as the metal framed bed and vintage side table. Linen-covered french doors add to the farm-house style of the room and an array of fabrics bring contrast as a stunning textural aesthetic on the bed. Tones are kept muted but the room feels cosy and put together with matching neutral shades and a range of textures.
