Plascon House Tour: A Rustic Modern Retreat
Exposed brickwork, concrete finishes and vintage styled furnishings add to the complexity and style of this bold rustic modern London home. It is a beautiful light-filled retreat with loads of character and rustic appeal.
It’s all about that lived-in urban magic. In this stylish home, everything tells a story, from thr raw wooden floors to the rustic brickwork that lines that walls of the dining room. Each piece, aged and beautiful, is reminiscent of a past life and shares the charm of its history in this old-world home.
The living area boasts a freestanding enclosed fireplace surrounded by built-in bookcases. The arched ceiling and skylight brings a sense of modern appeal to this space and we love the use of contemporary white walls to complete the look here. Wooden walls are offset by blue upholstered furniture and adds to a light, spacious ambience in this room.
Large windows welcome the natural world indoors. The living space is therefore fresh and bright – a beautiful blend of space and flow that leads from one room to the next.
Art lines the walls and brings a much-needed dose of colour and character to the living spaces. Wooden floors – in distressed oak – connect each room to the next.
This home boasts a wonderful blend of old and new. A mix of vintage furnishings and gentle hues create a calming feel. The use of beautifully graphic wallpaper in the bedrooms, delicate greens and natural flooring add to this easy mix of modern and Victorian.
Many of the home’s pieces have also been upcycled, adding to the richness of each space and the sense of old-world delight. The home is certainly a haven – with balance and rustic charm
