Has your home lost its lustre? Perhaps it’s time for a deep natural clean to help you see why you fell in love with your house in the first place. Here we share some top tips to help you get a cleaner, fresher home with natural cleaning products and a little elbow grease.
We love fresh, natural ingredients for a cleaner, hygienic home. Many store-bought cleaning products could have harmful chemicals, and that’s why we love to DIY some of our own cleaning products using healthier, fresher ingredients that actually work.
Don’t know where to start? Here are a few things you could try:
- Purchase everyday items that have the added power of cleaning. Lemon, bicarbonate of soda, alcohol and vinegar are excellent items to have on hand if you’re looking for natural cleaning ingredients to get the job done.
- Looking for a feel-good fresh aroma to spruce up your interior. Invest in quality essential oils that you could use in every room and create a fresh-smelling fragrance to please your family and diminish any nasty lingering odours around the home.
- Play around and make your own DIY home cleaning ingredients with some of your favourite natural products. If in doubt, white vinegar and bicarb clean just about anything – from tiles to showers to floors and more.
Need a DIY cleaner. We have one just for you:
1/2 c white vinegar
2 Tbsp baking soda
10 drops tea tree, lavender, or lemon essential oil
Add all the ingredients to a spray bottle and then top it up with water and give it a good shake. Use as a general household cleaner – simply spray on surfaces, wipe down with a cloth and allow to dry. This solution is also great for cleaning stains and mopping floors. Be sure to invest in a good vacuum cleaner to suck up the dust first and then whip out your household cleaner to keep things clean and looking fresh.
