Dulux Introduces A First For Africa: The Roller Tester

Finding your perfect new wall colour just got easier, and paint swatching just got smarter, with an innovative new applicator. Let’s roll…

Global Decorative Paint leader, and South Africa’s most-loved paint brand Dulux, has introduced a first for Africa: The Roller Tester.

We live in a world that is obsessed with perfection, whether is in the way we look, the way we carry ourselves or how to create seemingly curated living spaces. What makes it worse is that making decisions is usually hard for the average consumer… According to360i, consumers suffer from ‘Choice Paralysis’ – therefore when choosing paint for instance, most consumers will shy away from making big, or bold decisions.

“Our own research shows that colour is the number 1 consideration for consumers, but find it challenging as 41% of people lack confidence in choosing colour, 30% struggle to visualise what it will look like on their walls, while 16% drop out before the purchase phase,” says Nathalie Sweeney, Marketing Director for Dulux Sub Saharan Africa

This is why Dulux has made strides in ensuring that finding their perfect colour isn’t a stressful experience for customers, but rather an empowering interplay of the senses, with the latest addition to their offering. The Roller Testers, the first painting tool of its kind in Africa, will enable consumers to play around with colours to find their perfect match.

“Once you’ve narrowed the Dulux paint range down to a few of your favourite shades, it’s time to take them home and give them a whirl. A 30ml paint sample will cover enough area to give you a solid idea of how the shade will play out across the room,” adds Sweeney. “That’s the real power of this little Roller Tester – you get an accurate look at the finished result and avoid the disappointment of paint-regret or the costly hassle of repainting.”

Quick and easy, the Dulux Roller Testers are available in 14 popular standard colours and 10 popular tinted colours, and can be picked up at select paint retailers, across the country.

“You’ll be on a roll to find your perfect with these convenient and cost-effective tools at your fingertips,” concludes Sweeney.
