Corobrik: DIY Plant Stand Ideas
Who doesn’t love a bit of greenery inside or outside the home? Plants provide a sense of tranquillity, visual appeal and bring an abundance of fresh air to a space. Plant stands are a décor trend from the ‘70s and have come back bigger and better than ever. They are an attractive feature, but if purchased in-store can end up costing a pretty penny. Why not try these brick plant stand ideas at home – they are simple to make, look professional and best of all – are affordable.

This cosy corner on the garden verandah is complete with a brick plant-stand-come-side-table placed next to a chair, creating a quaint reading nook. The plant stand is made using clay face bricks stacked on top of each other with a concrete paver balanced on top. Ideally, you should use leftover face brick from another DIY or building project, but you can purchase new face bricks from Corobrik in an array of different colours and finishes. Use one single colour of face brick, or mix and match bricks in a variety of hues if you want to be more creative. Finish your plant stand off using a square paver. We recommend “Flagstone Natural Grey” from Corobrik’s concrete paver range.
Remember that a low stand will be fairly secure, but for extra stability and to create a more permanent feature, you can cement the face bricks together.

Created using pavers from Corobrik’s concrete range in “Flagstone Karoo” – this simple stand provides some height for your plants, keeping them off the ground, and adds an aesthetically pleasing touch to any landscape too.
