Barbie’s Malibu Dreamhouse Comes To Life on Airbnb

Complete with a pink slide that leads from the first storey deck straight into the pool, Barbie’s Malibu Dreamhouse is here and it is real, recently listed on Airbnb to celebrate Barbie’s 60th anniversary.

In true pink elegance, Barbie’s dreamhouse is packed with everything you can imagine the iconic doll owning. It’s a two bedroom, two bathroom oceanside mansion filled with phenomenal decor and features a mixture of new and vintage mid-century modern pieces—with a pink twist, of course.

A sparkling infinity pool showcases views of the California coast, while inside you will find a personal movie theater, a hobby studio, a sport court, a meditation space, an outdoor dining patio, a fully stocked kitchen, and a packed closet filled with Barbie’s favourite outfits. How cool is that!

Founded by Ruth Handler — businesswoman, mom, and pioneer of her time — Barbie has been breaking boundaries and sparking imaginations since her debut in 1959. Her home is extraordinary, as expected, with tons of pink personalised decor and beautiful spaces fit for a queen.

To celebrate her 60th anniversary, the house was available to one lucky renter on Airbnb at the end of October 2019 for just $60 per night. The lucky visitors also received a one-on-one fencing session with pro athlete Ibtihaj Muhammad, an interactive cooking lesson in Barbie’s fully stocked kitchen with chef Gina Clarke-Helm, a makeover with hairstylists from Mane Addicts Creator Collective while meeting with celebrity hairstylist Jen Atkin, and a trip to the Columbia Memorial Space Center with pilot and aerospace engineer Jill Meyers.
