Annie Sloan: Trendy In Navy & Black
Bold dark colours are punchy and on trend. When it comes to furniture makeovers and beautiful paint finishes, Annie Sloan shows us how to get that professional look with navy and black…
Chest of Drawers In Blue By Girl In Blue Designs
Annie Sloan’s new Chalk Paint colours, Oxford Navy and Athenian Black were used to create dimension and character to this chest of drawers. A vignette was added by applying Athenian Black to the edges of the piece and the bottom of each drawer, then Cream to create highlights along the tops of the drawers and on the bottom of the legs. A distressed look finishes it off beautifully – which not only adds extra history and romance – but also can be useful if you’ve been too heavy handed with your highlights and lowlights. Warm Gold Gilding Wax on the metal details emphasises the feel that this piece of furniture is aged but loved. Beautifully done!
That LA Bohemian Vibe
There’s something chic yet coastal about these agate gold trimmed knobs against that sanded back Chalk Paint in Athenian Black that we really, really adore. To create a similarly LA Bohemian vibe in your home, simply apply a coat of Athenian Black, a layer of Clear Chalk Paint Wax, and sand back using a fine grade sanding pad for a subtle peek at the bare wood beneath. Clear Chalk Paint Wax along the sanded areas to protect, then sit back, relax, and admire your handiwork (the most important part of the process).
