Annie Sloan: Summer Sayonara
Get ready for summer with Annie Sloan and some of the most memorable creations using Chalk Paint. If you’re looking for some DIY inspiration, look no further. Here we share some of our favourite furniture makeovers using a fresh coat of Chalk Paint.
Chalk Paint Antoinette Dresser:
Let’s begin with a bang. A bang, and a flash of light. The Painted Epicurean gilded this Chalk Paint in Antoinette dresser with Brass gilding leaf. If you’d like to try something similar you need metallic leaf in Brass (gold look), Aluminium (silver look) or Copper. The gold here works beautifully for a classically pretty, feminine piece that wouldn’t look out of place in Marie Antoinette’s chamber.
An Outdoor Candelabra:
For this beautiful candelabra, Chalk Paint® in Aubusson Blue was mixed with Emperor’s Silk to create that rich purple (this was painted pre-Rodmell), and Greek Blue to add interest. Such a beautiful addition to garden picnics and dinner parties that spill into the garden after dessert. If you find one of these in a reclamation yard or junk sale, we urge you not to leave without it. Just remember never to Chalk Paint Wax outdoors, instead use Chalk Paint Lacquer in your preferred finish of Gloss or Matt to protect against UV rays and rainfall.
An Armoire:
This delicate armoire was painted by ‘With Love Furniture’ using Chalk Paint® in Antoinette, Scandinavian Pink and Old White. She made each of the decorative, almost filigree, roses herself – and replaced the handle to give this modern piece a very convincing antique look! Further detail has been added using White Chalk Paint® Wax, Clear Wax and Dark Wax.
