An Easy Annie Sloan Chest of Drawers DIY
Add a touch of New England style to your home with this easy to accomplish Annie Sloan Chalk Paint project.
Whether you live by the sea, have a holiday beach house or simply dream of sea breezes this blue and grey chest of drawers is a practical, nautical-inspired piece perfect for a bathroom, passage or hallway.
It could even work in an outside setting like a patio or outdoor shower area… Annie says: “ Colour combinations are probably the most important thing to get right” and by using her unique colour wheel you can experiment until you achieve the desired shades.
Choose a moody combination of Greek Blue, French Linen and Old White to achieve this traditional look which reflects a choppy ocean setting and create plenty of texture using the colour palette as well as the paint techniques used.
The end result is a slightly washed and weathered effect which fits in with the overall scheme of sandstone flooring and wooden tongue & groove walls. The natural rope handles compliment the drawers by adding a rustic touch of vintage – with the fibres adding another layer of texture and interest.
