February at Ferreiras: Love Your Planet #SaveWater
The water predicament in Cape Town and surrounds has opened up our eyes in many ways, however, if you are not affected by it firsthand, it may be quick and easy to shrug off the situation. Clean, running water is a luxury that we all take for granted. If you were to think about it, would you rather be able to switch the light on in the loo, or flush the toilet after using the loo? Water wins easily.
We are loving the innovation of our local businesses in raising awareness and helping to save water. Every drop counts! This month at Ferreiras Tile + Bathroom, they are asking you to celebrate the month of love with a slight twist: Love your Planet #SaveWater. This February, Ferreiras is running a promotion on selected Hansgrohe and Duravit products with up to 25% off. Ferreiras has collaborated with these leading brands due to their ongoing commitment to being eco-Friendly and saving water. Below is a quick rundown on how these products save water and the fact that they are also visually appealing is just an added extra. In the basin: Hansgrohe Logis basin mixers only use 5 litres of water per minute compared to standard basin mixers that can use up to 13 litres of water per minute. The way it works is quite simple as the Hansgrohe tap adds air to the water which leaves you with a lovely full bubbling jet of water so you #SaveWater but don’t end up missing out on the sensation of a full burst of water. In the loo: How much water do you think you use when you flush the loo? Well, if you have an old toilet, up to 12 litres, some slightly newer versions up to 9 litres. Now there is a good reason to renovate your bathroom as the latest toilets only use between 3 and 6 litres. The Duravit DuraStyle Rimless Pan only uses between 3 and 4.5 litres of water to flush and this month at Ferreiras you will not only #SaveWater with the DuraStyle Rimless pan but also save money. So what is a Rimless pan? The toilet pan has an open design of the rim, which enables an innovative and powerful flush: water flows in the form of a horizontal arc, and then vertically, before flushing the entire inner surface of the bowl without splashing. This video explains it nicely. A joint effort is required in conserving our planet and the precious commodity of water; let us start by being product wise and selecting items that make it easier to be water conscious. Make sure to visit Ferreiras this month and save big. Contact: Ferreiras
