Today’s four-storey home is located in Carroll Gardens, Brooklyn, New York. It’s here where architects took on a full renovation and complete interior design makeover to reveal the hidden treasure we see before us today.

The layout was reorganized to create a top floor master suite and a large, open living area on the second floor, which features the addition of matching Juliet balconies with new steel and glass French doors.

An old home was given a new lease on life with a layered look that is perfect for metropolitan living in New York. We see the interior filled with mixed styles including industrial elements such as exposed metal lighting to more classic features with a twist, such as an internal fireplace in the living room painted in a muted blue velvet tone.

Vintage furniture is incorporated into the retro dining room, complete with woven wall art, globe pendant chandelier and abstract artwork that ties into the colour palette of whites with tangerine and red.

The cityscape is celebrated in the kitchen with large windows that connect the serene interior with the beauty of the urban landscape outside. Black accents are stylish here with two striking matte black light pendants and black framed windows that add to the contemporary look of this space. Wooden flooring adds depth here and gives the space a more homely and comfortable ambience.

Shades of blue and white are idyllic in the master bedroom where a soothing, calm space has been created. Hints of blue accents tie the entire space together, from the bold choice of artwork above the bed to the soft furnishings, bedding and drapes incorporated into the contemporary look.

A feature wall above the bathroom sinks makes for a bold statement in this home. Painted black and offset against wood and white curved mirror cabinets, this wall is stunning and adds a touch of sophisticated flair that ties into the glamorous choice of golden hardware and accessories used in this space.
