DADOquartz®: When Design Becomes a Canvas for Change

Elemental Fusion was born from a simple yet powerful idea: to unite art, design and community in a way that could make a real difference. At the heart of this vision stood a striking DADOquartz® bathtub, transformed by acclaimed South African artist Azael Langa into a one-of-a-kind work of art.

Known for his signature smoke technique, Langa’s work speaks of hope and resilience. Applied to the pure, sculptural form of a DADOquartz® bath, his artistry created a visual statement that embodied the event’s purpose. It was not just a piece of bathroom ware, but a symbol of how functional design can also be a platform for storytelling and positive change.

The event took place in the elegant X-Quisite Floors & Bathrooms showroom, where creativity filled every corner. Guests were treated to the uplifting sounds of the East Rand School Band, setting an inspiring tone for the evening. World-class wines from UVA Mira and a refined whisky tasting by The Macallan delighted the senses, while a showcase from Bentley South Africa added sleek sophistication.

Guided by charismatic host Bongani Dube and the skilled team from Aucor auctioneers, the live charity auction became the heartbeat of the night. Each bid drew the room closer to making a tangible difference, with proceeds supporting organisations such as the Fulufhelo Special School, Rivers Foundation and Kungwini Welfare Organisation. These groups work tirelessly to uplift vulnerable communities, and the funds raised will help them continue their essential work.

The DADOquartz® “canvas” bath stood at the centre of it all, reminding guests that design is not only about form and function but also about leaving a legacy. Its transformation into a work of art showed that when creativity and compassion meet, the results are truly transformative.
