Nicolson Russel: The Extended Kintsugi Range
Based on the ancient art of Kintsukuroi, the latest range of kitchenware from Nicolson Russel is a beautiful collection known as the Kintsugi Range.
There is something beautiful and timeless about the Japanese process of fixing pottery with gold lacquer. Kintsukuroi refers to this striking technique – taking broken pieces and creating something precious and new from the different parts.
As a philosophy, kintsugi is often appreciated for its similarities to the Japanese philosophy of wabi-sabi, and the notion of embracing that which is flawed or imperfect. Kintsugi gives new life to that which was once broken, often highlighting the cracks and repairs as simply an event in the life of an object.
Inspired by this art form, Nicolson Russel has put together the Kintsugi Range of dinnerware, showcasing delicate fine bone china featuring real gold. The end result is an inspired collection – the perfect keepsake in your home.
The range has been expanded from the popular cups and mugs to include plates, bowls and other beautiful pieces. Included in this range are stunning mugs available in white and black fine bone china (wooden lid included and gold plated teaspoon included).
Each has been carefully hand-painted with a real gold finish. The range includes white and black options.
