The Cape Gallery Presents a ‘Summertime’ Exhibition
David Kuijers and Tania Babb will be on exhibition at the Cape Gallery from 7 Dec ’17 – 6 Jan ’18 with a Summertime collection.
A breath of fresh air – both David and Tania have a light take on the exuberant experience that is Cape Town. David has a background in illustration and design, and has been a full-time artist since 1999. ‘For the last two December exhibitions at the Cape Gallery I have introduced some of the originals from which my Giclee’s are made, they are in my view my better works, and this year the bulk of my exhibition will be “print originals” as I ran out of time.
I could have burnt some midnight oil and got something together, but the Cape Gallery has been exceptional to work with – and this year will be our LUCKY 13th SHOW – it might as well be a good one!’ Tania, born in Zimbabwe studied graphic design in Cape Town where she later apprenticed as a ceramic artist with Barbara Jackson in 1986 and has been exhibiting her work ever since. ‘I have lately found a new voice’, she discovers – ‘I have been very hungry for colour. Loud colour. Colour that hits you over the head. The surface must drink the light. A Matt surface drains light. My subject matter tends to be more supernatural, self-confident animals rather than gentle people…. ‘ Don’t miss this exhibition at The Cape Gallery this holiday season.
