Origin Art Presents Voices of Strength
Origin Art presents “Voices of Strength” which brings together the work of eight remarkable women artists, each exploring the diverse and dynamic facets of femininity.
Busiswa Mazwana captures the delicate beauty of everyday moments through her evocative photography, while Buqaqawuli Nobakada reclaims the symbolism of lace, transforming it into a powerful emblem of feminine strength. Chuma Adam delves into themes of visibility and self-actualization in Black identity through her multidisciplinary approach, and Michelle Viljoen bridges the tangible and intangible with her emotive abstractions drawn from street photography.
Siphokazi Mlangeni challenges societal norms with her provocative ceramics, examining themes of virginity and female sexuality. Tarien Engelbrecht’s glitch paintings evoke nostalgic memories, inviting introspection on the role of memory in shaping identity. Together, these artists celebrate the resilience, empowerment, and complexity of women, creating a rich tapestry of narratives that inspire reflection and connection.
This exhibition is a tribute to the vibrant and multifaceted experiences that define womanhood, encouraging viewers to appreciate and celebrate the diverse voices and stories of these extraordinary artists.
